At SI Designs, we believe in the power of green technology to create a more sustainable world. Our response to the challenge encompasses environmental, social and economic performance targets. Due to their long source life and high reliability, LED light sources require less frequent recycling than traditional technology, making them the most energy-efficient and cost-effective lighting option over system life. In addition, LEDs don’t contain mercury or other hazardous materials so they can be handled and disposed of safely.
We believe LEDs are the most environmentally responsible and sustainable lighting technology available. That’s why we design innovative LED lighting solutions and encourage our customers to “go green” with LEDs for every lighting application.
What makes LED Lighting sustainable?
Energy Efficiency
LEDs consume far less energy than the traditional light bulbs, thereby reducing energy costs.
Extreme Long Life Span
The life span of LEDs are more than twice that of traditional landscape lighting and in some case more than five times. LEDs don't fail abruptly - they slowly fade over time, giving ample opportunity to plan replacements.
Optimal Reliability
The filament in a normal lamp is fragile, easily broken by a sudden shock or drop. LED based fixtures contain no glass or filament making them an ideal solution for rugged and demanding environments and/or installations where access is challenging.
Economic Value
The use of LED lighting offers significant savings in the long term, particularly in terms of reduced energy and maintenance costs.
Environmental Responsibility
Switching to low energy, solid state lighting benefits the environment. The low power requirements of LED light sources make them ideal for use with other power sources, as e.g. solar or wind powered installations.
Increased Safety & Security
The low level of heat produced make them the LED a safer source of light for both the installer and the end user.
